With more than 15 years finance experience in residential real estate, including key positions with publicly traded homebuilders and a start-up real estate investment bank, Omar’s diverse background led to his role as Renasci Homes’ Chief Financial Officer.
At the onset of his career, Omar managed financial operations for a national homebuilder, where he was integral in launching a major master-planned community in a breakthrough market. Omar then joined investment management and development firm, CityView, focusing his acquisitions and development efforts to grow the company’s investment footprint, while ensuring its optimal success and fiscal security. His financial expertise and experience launched him into his next role with John Laing Homes and Emaar Properties, where he financed over 2,500 units contributing to $1.3 billion in sales. In this position, he also oversaw a $225 million corporate borrowing base facility.
Over the course of his career, Omar spearheaded more than $1 billion in debt and equity financing and has been involved with multiple ERP software implementations and conversions involving such systems as Newstar, JD Edwards and SAP. He excels optimizing cash flow, managing operations and financial planning, and building processes and infrastructures to facilitate growth.
As the Chief Financial Officer for Renasci Homes, Omar develops and aligns processes, reporting and analytics with the company’s growth and acquisitions strategy. In addition to his primary accounting, finance and treasury responsibilities, this building industry veteran also oversees platform-support operations, including risk management, information technology and human resources.
Omar earned a BS from the Pennsylvania State University at University Park and an MBA from the University of Mary Washington.
